Success Stories

Every project tells its own story. Behind every assembly, every device and every development lies a unique challenge and a solution that has been developed in collaboration with our customers.

As a development partner and electronics manufacturer, we support projects from the initial idea right through to series production. This results in solutions for a wide variety of industries, applications and production volumes – from prototypes and small batches to large-scale series production.

Our success stories show how ideas are transformed into market-ready products. From prototypes to series production, from small batch sizes to large-scale series, from the development of individual assemblies to complex turnkey solutions – discover, through real-life projects, just how diverse the possibilities are at dresden elektronik and the added value that a collaborative partnership brings.

Discover just how varied successful electronics solutions can be and what they all have in common: quality, flexibility and the expertise of dresden elektronik.

High performance in serial production.

Not every product has the same requirements – some stand out for their complexity, others for their production volumes. This project impressively demonstrates how efficiently and precisely dresden elektronik meets a variety of production requirements.

We manufacture more than 10,000 de62487 assemblies every month. Thanks to a highly optimised process chain involving single-sided SMD assembly followed by a final quality inspection, the production time is just 0.004 hours per assembly.

Due to its greater complexity, the de65366 assembly requires additional process steps. In addition to double-sided SMD assembly, the process involves automatic optical inspection (AOI), serial number scanning and the separation of the panels. Despite these additional requirements, more than 1,000 assemblies are produced each month with a production time of just 0.04 hours per assembly.

This example illustrates how flexibly dresden elektronik meets a wide variety of production requirements: from high-volume series with maximum efficiency to more complex assemblies with enhanced quality and traceability requirements.

Projects at a glance:

10,000 assemblies/month

  • Single-sided SMD assembly
  • Production time: 0.004 h/assembly

1,000 assemblies/month

  • Double-sided SMD assembly
  • AOI
  • Serial number tracking
  • Panel separation
  • Production time: 0.04 h/assembly

Precision matters at every single stage of the process.

Not every assembly can be produced using standardised manufacturing processes. Some projects place particularly high demands on quality, reliability and the level of in-house production. This is precisely where dresden elektronik’s strengths lie.

The de61867 assembly undergoes a wide range of coordinated manufacturing steps. In addition to double-sided SMD assembly and automatic optical inspection (AOI), the process includes THT wave soldering, the insertion of solder pins, and various cleaning and machining processes. The assemblies are then subjected to environmental testing, including a burn-in test, to ensure their reliability even under demanding operating conditions.

The manufacturing process is rounded off by the automated application of a protective barrier and a protective coating on both sides, before each assembly undergoes a final quality inspection.

With a production time of around 0.6 hours per assembly and a monthly output of 100 assemblies, this project impressively demonstrates how complex electronics manufacturing and the highest quality standards can be successfully combined.

When individual components come together to form a complete system.

Manufacturing individual assemblies is one thing – realising complete systems is quite another. This project impressively demonstrates the full scope of dresden elektronik’s in-house manufacturing capabilities.

The de63869 assembly consists of a complete control cabinet that combines several sub-assemblies. These are not sourced externally, but are also manufactured and tested at dresden elektronik, before being assembled into a complete system. In addition to control cabinet construction, the scope of production also includes cable assembly and the integration of all components.

Particular attention is paid to quality assurance: specially developed test equipment is used for each individual sub-assembly as well as for the finished complete unit. This ensures that every component functions reliably and that the overall system meets the highest quality and safety requirements.

With a production time of around 17 hours per sub-assembly and a monthly output of five complete systems, this project is a prime example of highly complex equipment manufacturing, in which development expertise, production, assembly and testing are seamlessly integrated.

Project at a glance:

5 complete systems per month

  • Production time: 17 hours per sub-assembly
  • Complete manufacture of a control cabinet
  • Integration of several sub-assemblies manufactured in-house
  • Control cabinet construction
  • Cable assembly
  • Development and use of customer-specific test equipment
  • Testing of all individual components and the complete unit

Diversity that makes all the difference.

The projects shown here are representative of the breadth of our services. Whether it’s more than 10,000 assemblies per month using highly optimised manufacturing processes, sophisticated assemblies involving numerous specialised processes, or complex turnkey systems with a production time of 17 hours per unit – every project presents unique demands in terms of technology, quality and expertise.

It is precisely this diversity that sets dresden elektronik apart. We support our customers from development through electronics manufacturing right through to the finished system, and adapt our processes flexibly to the specific requirements – regardless of whether the project involves prototypes, small batches, medium batch sizes or large-scale production.

Our commitment remains the same throughout: the highest quality, maximum process reliability and solutions that are precisely tailored to our customers’ needs. Because every project is unique, and that is precisely what has made our work so varied for over 35 years.

What sets us apart: testing systems developed in-house.

At dresden elektronik, quality does not end with the manufacture of an assembly. To ensure the highest level of reliability and comprehensive functional testing, we develop and build product-specific test systems in-house on request.

Our test equipment is precisely tailored to the requirements of the respective product. This enables individual assemblies to be tested just as reliably as complete devices or complex systems. The result is reproducible test results, maximum process reliability and consistently high product quality – both during the prototyping phase and in series production.

The close integration of development, manufacturing and test technology results in bespoke solutions that not only meet the highest quality standards, but also streamline test processes and ensure their long-term reliability.

Expertise that protects.

Today, electronics are used in a wide variety of environments – from industrial applications and transport technology to particularly demanding areas of use. To provide long-term protection for assemblies against moisture, dust, chemicals and mechanical stresses, dresden elektronik offers comprehensive solutions in the field of assembly coating and potting.

Using state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies and customised processes, we protect printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies precisely where they are exposed to particular stresses. From fully automated cleaning through selective or full-surface coating to 1- or 2-component potting, we develop bespoke protection concepts that sustainably increase the service life and reliability of electronic products.

Thanks to state-of-the-art plant technology, we achieve high-precision, reproducible coatings whilst maintaining short turnaround times. In this way, we combine the highest quality with cost-effective processes – regardless of whether individual assemblies or entire production runs need to be protected.
